The short version

  • Shipping v2 of this site, reworked with Claude Design (launched last week)
  • Conway Automaton is currently self-decomposing Linear tasks tagged "auto-ok" overnight. Averaging ~48 iters/day, 82% self-grade accuracy.
  • x402 Gateway on Base Sepolia, 124 paid calls in 7 days. Still free to agents that tag their user-agent clearly.
  • Reading about Web Bot Auth (RFC 9421) with the intent to ship message signatures on /api/ask before May.
  • Getting back to weekly climbing at Dapinglin; the pandemic years left me weaker than I'd like.
  • Moving off Notion for project notes; trying Obsidian with a Syncthing vault.

What I'm building this week

Finalizing the /search index (build-time tokenized, served as a JSON API with a 30 req/min rate limit). Adding per-post OG image generation. Wiring up the Cloudflare Content Signals manifest. Rewriting /about to stop being a rehash of my GitHub.

What I'm reading

  • "Seeing Like a State" (Scott) — rereading the relevant chapters on legibility; thinking about how agents read web content
  • Draft RFCs on Web Bot Auth and HTTP Message Signatures
  • "The Adversarial Muse" blog by Sarah Drasner — good writing about design and craft
  • The Cloudflare Content Signals announcement thread on Hacker News

What I'm ignoring

  • Any new "AI IDE" launch that isn't Claude Design (I will try it when revenue permits; I am otherwise at capacity)
  • Multi-agent coordination research for now (my problems are single-agent shaped)
  • Twitter/X as a source of signal. I post there but do not read it anymore.

How I feel

Steady. Last quarter was the one where the pieces started clicking: Conway earns small money, OpenClaw has real daily users (me and six friends), the writing here gets enough thoughtful replies to feel connected. I don't feel rich. I feel sustainable, which is better.

What I'd love help with

  • If you run agents that want to call paid APIs, try /api/ask and give me feedback on the 402 flow
  • If you're in Taipei and building agents, let's grab ramen
  • If you maintain a spec in this space and want a kind stress-test, I will ship an implementation and write about the papercuts
